SIRC Spring Classic Segment Challenge 2022

SIRC Spring Classic Segment Challenge 2022

The SIRC Spring Segment Challenge is back. 4 two-week stages of painful and punchy segments to keep us all fit, honest and ready for the summer.

Friday 28th January 2022

The SIRC roundtable is pleased to deliver that extra motivation you needed in the form of the SIRC Spring Segment Challenge. Just like all good spring classics, these stages will feature short punchy climbs, longer flattish sections, and one or two longer climbs to put a bit of pressure on the power climbers!

Whether you are in top form or need motivation to get back into shape, the Spring Segment Challenge provides an opportunity to push yourself in that competitive environment that we have all been missing!

This year we are keeping things a little faster paced, with only 4 stages each lasting just 2 weeks. Paying respect to roads less traveled and those you know well…..we present you with 2022’s four stages and dates:

Stage 1 – Perkin's Gherkin (February 7th – February 20th)

We kick things off in the Tai Hang Rd area.

*Special notes: Please take care on "Blue Pool Sprint Finish" at the corner before Mt Butler on Tai Hang Rd. Also, note that the finish is at least 100m BEFORE the roundabout so you can easily slow down in time.

Stage 2 – Who Let the Dogs Out! (February 21st - March 6th)

This stage features new challenges in the Shouson Hill area.

Stage 3 –Lantau Laughing (March 7th – March 20th)

Is Buddha laughing at you? Show him who’s boss as you hit these sprint and power segments on Lantau.

Stage 4 –Hammer Time (March 21st – April 3rd)

The final deciding segments back on the Island.

GC Competition

There will be two overall champions, one male and one female. These two champions are decided based on their combined time for all Stages.

There are no time bonuses for stage wins this year.
